What is Community Christmas?
Community Christmas is a new kind of life-giving, community-building Christmas shopping experience for people in our community. It’s about building relationships in our community and celebrating the dignity and worth of each individual who participates.
How does it work?
Individuals and families through participation in programs offered by our local partner organizations will have the opportunity to earn “Christmas Cash” with which they can purchase gifts for their loved ones at the Community Christmas shop.
On December 8th and 9th, we will come together for our first Community Christmas to shop and celebrate and make new friends in our community.
Who are the partner organizations?
Big Brothers Big Sisters, Boys and Girls Clubs NCL, Life Choices NCLA, DART, and The Well
How can I help?
We want Community Christmas to truly be a community event. Business and organizations can sponsor activities or send employees to group serve during the event. Individuals, families, and small groups can purchase gifts to stock the store (suggested list here) or food items for Christmas dinner baskets (suggested list here), volunteer to serve as store workers (cashiers, baggers, shopping helpers, stockers, and organizers), activity workers (kids crafts and games, snacks, drinks), or be a part of a set-up and tear-down team. Access a full list of jobs and shift times here.
