Read: Matthew 26:1-16
Yesterday we read about Peter’s denial of Jesus. Today we see that others had more malicious intentions toward Jesus.
- In this passage we see two groups of people opposing Jesus. Read verse 4 and verses 14-16 again. What did these people stand to gain from eliminating Jesus?
- Judas Iscariot, like Peter, was a disciple and traveling companion of Jesus for more than three years. His betrayal of Jesus would have been more personal that that of the religious leaders. What do you tend to value more than Christ? How does this play out in your daily life?
Steps to take:
Spend some time as a family or with a friend confession the sinful ways that you betray Jesus through your thoughts and actions. Together, ask God to forgive you of your sin and ask God to give you the strength needed to move forward in obedience to Jesus.
